With so many daughters and granddaughters pink is a very popular color in our house! I designed this fun little pink poodle party for my little granddaughter who just turned three and she absolutely loved it! I made poodle skirts for each of my granddaughters (I chose to do them in a Chevron pattern which turned out really cute--I was worried that the Chevron might look funny since the zigzags would bend funny when sewn into a skirt, but they turned out to be adorable!) and the girls had a ball just spinning round and round in their skirts and seeing how big they could get their skirt to flare out! I found strands of pearls at Walmart in the fabric section that were sewn together (so I wouldn't have to worry about beads flying everying if the pearl strands broke) and they were perfect to give the poodles on the poodle skirts little pearl collars and to make the handles of the goody bags as well. I set up a dainty little tea party with kid friendly treats (cute plates with a popcorn cup, a fruit snack cup, etc...) and they were a big hit! The kids ate and boogied out to some fun music we had playing in the background and everyone had a good time. If you want to throw a Pink Poodle party, then I have everything already done for you! My daughter Ana is having a baby in a month and all of her sisters threw her a very cute baby shower.
A month ago my son and daughter-in-law had a new baby boy and I wanted to tell the whole world! To help spread the word I made candy bar wrappers that had the baby's name, date he was born and how much he weighed. It was fun passing out candy bars to friends and family.
These would also be great as a baby shower party favor. This downloadable packet comes with four candy bar wrapper options, gift tags and candy tags.

I have a confession to make. I've been having an affair--with black and white. Even though I love color, and it's definitely my first love, black and white is just so clean and modern and makes a statement. I adore it. It's even creeping into my holiday decorations.
Which is why I am loving this black and white dessert table via Amy Atlas. Lovely, right?
What about you? Do you have a color story that you are secretly crushing on? xoxo
If you're planning on hosting a cupcake themed party, here are some ideas to get your juices flowing. With so many options on the market for cupcake invitations, cupcake party supplies and millions of posts on cupcake decorating, this topic seems to be far from over. In fact, there are so many new great ideas as to how to incorporate cupcakes that it seems fitting to make an entire party themed around these great little desserts.
There are so many fabulous invitations on the market that feature cupcakes, some that you can make and some that you can create online. Here is a sampling of just a few of my favorites:
These darling cupcake invitations from the Etsy shop, Whenitrains include fun pattern paper and an insert where the invitation information goes.
Or, a more grown up cupcake inspired cake invitation is this great birthday invitation from UrbanityStudios where you can easily change the colors and text in their online tool.
After you select your invitation (good luck, there are so many great options) and select your guest list, it's time to start thinking about decorations.
For centerpieces, why not use the plastic cupcake liners and fill with fresh blossoms:
Or, what about making a sign that hangs above your buffet or even on your entrance that says "Hello Cupcake!"
Banners are always a great option and I love Event Lucky's twist on using actual cupcake liners to make the banner. So great.
During the party, there are many fun ideas for carrying on the cupcake theme.
Take for instance, this interactive way to serve cupcakes during your party. Set up a buffet full of undecorated cupcakes, toppings, frostings and you have a cupcake bar.

Or, what about creating a cupcake contest. Ask guests to bring a few cupcakes to share and have judges score the cupcakes on taste, presentation and of course, creativity.
If your having a children's cupcake party, you can give each child a baked, undecorated cupcake and ask them to make the most outlandish, fancy, etc. cupcake they can. Provide the kids with sprinkles, cotton candy, edible flowers, and other fun items that will make the cupcake decorating a ton of fun. Give out prizes for "the most imaginative cupcake" or "most explosive" or "most colorful". Have enough prizes for each child and award them for their great cupcake work.
I'm generally a modern girl, but this gorgeous baby shower (for twins!) made my heart skip a beat {via Amy Atlas}. The newspaper theme creates the rustic (I love the invites and the crossword puzzle, as well as the baby letters), and the all white flowers and black and white details bumps up the sophistication.
Someone have a baby (or babies!) so I can re-create this beauty! xoxo Event Lucky
P.S. Have you seen my re-design yet?
